This Pizza Rolls Appetizer recipe is perfect for a kid's birthday party, as a dinner appetizer, or as a snack.
The best part? It's so easy to make.

I use the Pillsbury pizza dough for this recipe. Saves lots of time when you are planning a party. Keep it in the refrigerator (not the freezer) until ready to use.

Main Ingredients:
- Pizza dough/crust
- Grated cheese of your liking - Mozzarella cheese is the most popular cheese for pizza. You can use cheddar cheese as well.
- Pizza Sauce - since this recipe is a quick appetizer, I use a store-bought pizza sauce.
Other Ingredients as Featured in Image:
Because my kids like completely different pizza toppings (what a surprise!), I topped half of the pizza with my son's favorite toppings and the other half with my daughter's favorites. So, it looked like this:

One-half of the pizza dough is perfect for picky eaters, such as my son. Pepperoni, and that's about it!
The other half is a little more ingredients, but a lot more flavor. Diced sundried tomatoes, sliced green olives, topped with fresh spring greens.
So, when the pizza rolls are done, you will have about 6 pepperoni pizza rolls and 6 pepperoni slices/olive/sundried tomato/spring greens rolls. That was a mouthful!
Some Ideas for Toppings:
I used the most basic and simple toppings in these rolls, but you can, of course, use your wild imagination.
Here are some ideas:
- Pepperoni slices
- Mushroom slices
- Tomato slices
- Sundried tomatoes
- Zucchini pieces
- Broccoli
- Olives - pitted and sliced
- Ham pieces
- Grilled chicken, diced, maybe with BBQ Sauce?
- Bacon bits or bacon pieces
- Pineapple
- Anchovies
- Jalapeno peppers
- Roasted red peppers
- Parmesan Cheese
- Onion slices
- Italian Seasoning
Preparing the Pizza Rolls Appetizer:
- Heat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Unroll dough onto a nonstick cutting board. Using your hands, gently stretch the pizza dough to create an even base of approximately 16 x 11 inch rectangle.
- Spread 3 tablespoons of sauce evenly over the dough. Add more sauce if desired. Sprinkle one cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and add more cheese if desired.
- Top with your favorite toppings. Featured Image toppings: pepperoni slices, green olives, sundried tomatoes, mixed spring greens.
- Starting from the bottom of the longer side, roll up the dough tightly, to form a log.
- Using a sharp knife cut the dough into even size pieces, approximately 1 to 1 1/2 inches each.
- Place the rolls on the prepared parchment paper, spaced about 1 inch apart from each other, and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until lightly browned. It's going to smell amazing by the way!

NOTES:
- As an option, you may take the rolls out of the over after 10 minutes of baking and sprinkle some extra Mozzarella cheese on top. Return to the over and bake another 10 minutes.
- keep leftovers in the refrigerator up to 3 days
- before serving leftover pizza rolls, reheat in a preheated oven at 375°F for about 5 minutes
